TWO PARTS OF YOUR EVERYDAY

One for the drive.
One for the downtime.

Auto insurance and renters insurance are separate policies. Comparing them together helps you look at the full cost, coverage limits and deductibles—even when separate carriers are the better fit.

01 / ON THE ROAD

Your wheels.

Review auto liability, protection for your vehicle and the optional coverages that fit how you drive.

  • Liability for covered injuries or damage you cause
  • Collision and comprehensive options for your vehicle
  • Questions about deductibles, drivers and vehicle use

02 / WHERE YOU LIVE

Your space.

Your landlord insures the building. A renters policy addresses your belongings and personal liability.

  • Personal property protection for covered losses
  • Personal liability, subject to policy terms
  • Additional living expenses after a covered loss

Coverage depends on the policy, exclusions, limits and deductible. A renters policy does not insure your car.

A PLACE OF YOUR OWNNew city. New place.
Still completely you.

APARTMENT. TOWNHOME. RENTAL HOUSE.

New lease.
New commute.
Let’s get you sorted.

A lease, a roommate, a move, or a different commute can change the questions worth asking. Let’s build the comparison around your situation.

Moving into a new place?

Have your unit number, move date and lease insurance requirements ready. Tell us where your car will normally be parked overnight.

Sharing your home?

Tell us who lives with you. We’ll review who is insured instead of assuming a roommate’s belongings are included.

Buying more for your home?

Think through furniture, clothes, electronics and other belongings. Ask about replacement cost, special limits and valuable items.

AI suggestions and values need your review. An inventory is a record of belongings, not an appraisal or a guarantee of coverage or claim payment.

LOOK BEYOND THE WORD “BUNDLE”

Bundle curious?
Let’s look at the whole picture.

Eligible multi-policy discounts vary by insurer. Compare the total price and the protection you’re getting before deciding.

1

Compare the whole cost.

Look at both premiums, payment plans and deductibles. A discount on one policy does not tell the whole story.

2

Match the coverage.

Review similar limits and options so a lower quote does not hide a coverage change you did not intend.

3

Choose what fits.

Consider eligible bundles alongside separate policies. Availability depends on your household and the insurer.

GOOD QUESTIONS. CLEAR ANSWERS.

Auto + renters, explained.

Can I bundle auto and renters insurance in North Carolina?

Depending on the carrier and your eligibility, you may qualify for a multi-policy discount. We can compare eligible bundle options and separate policies. A bundle is not automatically the lowest total price or the best coverage fit.

Do I need renters insurance if my landlord has insurance?

Your landlord’s policy generally protects the building, not your personal belongings or your personal liability. Renters insurance addresses different needs. Bring any insurance requirements from your lease so we can review them with you.

Will one renters policy cover my roommates?

Do not assume a roommate is covered by your policy. Tell us who lives in the home and how you are related. We can review who qualifies as an insured and whether separate policies are appropriate.

Can you help if I am moving to Charlotte, Raleigh or another NC city?

Yes. Our agency is based in Elkin and serves North Carolina residents statewide. Share your move date, new rental address and where you will normally keep your car so we can discuss the policies and effective dates you need.

Is renters insurance the same as rental car insurance?

No. Renters insurance is for people renting a home, apartment or townhome. Rental car reimbursement is an optional auto coverage with its own conditions. Tell us if you need either or both.

What should I prepare for an auto and renters quote?

Have your driver and vehicle information, rental address and unit number, desired start date, current policy details and any lease insurance requirements available. Consider the cost to replace your belongings and the deductibles you would be comfortable paying.

Can I request renters insurance without switching my auto policy?

Yes. Ask our team about renters-only options. We can also discuss whether comparing your auto policy makes sense; availability and eligibility depend on the insurer.

Keep exploring.
