Explore your coverage options

Start with what your venue needs, then discuss what else matters to you.

Event liability

Helps address covered injuries or property damage for which you are legally responsible during an eligible event.

  • Review the venue’s required liability limits.
  • Discuss additional insured requests.
  • Review alcohol-related exposures separately.
Discuss liability options

Cancellation & postponement

For eligible weddings or events, this coverage can help with certain nonrecoverable expenses when a covered reason changes your plans.

  • Discuss deposits and event expenses.
  • Review covered reasons and exclusions.
  • Confirm availability and purchase deadlines.
Ask about cancellation options

These coverages serve different purposes and are not automatically included together. We’ll confirm which options are available for your event. Coverage is subject to the policy’s terms, limits, conditions and exclusions.

Start with the fine print

What does your venue require?

A venue’s insurance checklist is a useful starting point. Share it with us before selecting coverage.

  • Required limits

The liability limits your venue asks you to carry.

  • Certificate wording

The correct venue name, address and required wording.

  • Additional insured requests

Who needs to be listed and what endorsement is required.

  • Submission deadlines

When the venue needs proof, including setup and cleanup dates.

A certificate is evidence of insurance; it does not change the policy or create coverage. Requested endorsements must be reviewed and confirmed.

A little preparation goes a long way

Before we talk

Have these details handy so we can focus on your event.

  • Event date

Include rehearsal, setup and cleanup dates.

  • Venue address

Have the event location and contact handy.

  • Guest count

Your expected attendance and event activities.

  • Alcohol plans

Who serves it, and whether it will be sold.

  • Vendors

    Caterer, entertainment and other providers.

  • Venue requirements

Bring the contract or insurance checklist.

Good questions. Plain answers.

Common questions

What is the difference between event liability and cancellation coverage?

Event liability addresses covered bodily injury or property damage for which you are legally responsible. Cancellation or postponement coverage addresses certain nonrecoverable event expenses when a covered reason prevents the event from going ahead. They serve different purposes; one does not automatically include the other.

Can you help with my venue’s insurance requirements?

Yes. Share the venue’s written requirements, including limits, requested certificate wording, additional insured instructions and the deadline. Our team can review available options against those requirements. Acceptance by the venue and coverage availability need to be confirmed.

What if alcohol will be served?

Tell us whether alcohol is complimentary, sold or served by a licensed vendor. Alcohol-related liability needs a separate review. We will discuss the applicable host liquor or liquor liability options and the venue’s requirements rather than assume alcohol is included.

Are celebrations other than weddings eligible?

Tell us about your anniversary gathering, private party or other celebration. Eligibility depends on the event’s activities, location, attendance and the market’s guidelines. We will confirm whether an option is available for your event.

When should I discuss insurance for my event?

Contact us while you are planning, ideally before the venue’s insurance deadline. Purchase deadlines and coverage conditions vary. Waiting until a problem is known can affect your options; ask us to review your dates early.

Does my homeowners policy already cover my event?

It may provide some protection, but the location, activities, alcohol plans and policy exclusions matter. Send us your current policy and the venue requirements so we can review them. Do not assume home coverage meets the venue’s needs.

Does requesting information put coverage in place?

No. A discussion, quote request or contact form does not bind coverage. Your event must be accepted and coverage confirmed before you rely on a policy.
